My Empties!

Good Evening My Lovelies!

Hope you are all doing well! I thought it was about time that I wrote you another blog so I have been brainstorming to see what I can share with you and then it hit me.

A while back, I was shopping in one of our local budget department stores (I think that is what you could class it as), Trago Mills. Basically they sell anything you can imagine from furniture to plants to stationary, even all the little weird and wonderful things that you didn’t actually realise you need! I found this cute little pink bin, that at the time thought would be perfect for my car as my boyfriend is literally the worst at keeping it clean and tidy! But it wasn’t ideal and believe it or not, not big enough for the big mess he makes!

So it just sat in my bedroom to add a little character, gathering dust. For a while now I have been toying with the idea to share with you some of the empty products I use but I always just naturally throw them away without even thinking! So you can imagine my delight when that little light bulb in my head was flashing!!

Here is the little guy.. !

I have now decided to use it for my empty products and when I have enough of a collection, I can share with you all my thoughts and whether or not I am in a hurry to run down to the shops and purchase it all once again!

Shall we get started before I start to bore you all with my ramble already? Right then, here goes…

To start with, I have the Nivea Invisible Black & White Anti-Perspirant Deodorant Spray. The promise is that it is deigned to be a clear spray to protect white marks on black clothes and yellow stains on white clothes, 48hour protection, it’s gentle on the skin and is alcohol and colorant free. These are all great but do they work? Meh. I wasn’t impressed and extremely disappointed because Nivea have to be my all time favourite brand. It smells fresh which I love, but I wouldn’t say it lasts 48hours (Nor would I particularly expect it to as I shower everyday!!) It is a clear spray and never had a problem with that horrible white fall out when you move your arm after spraying. Its not as protecting as I would like, but I probably would purchase in the winter for that lighter fresher feel.

My Lacoste Touch of Pink Perfume has to be one of my all time favourites! It smells so nice and I am completely gutted that it has finally run out! I’m not going to spend too much time on this one because there is only so much you can say about a spray, but it is rare I find sprays that I love simply because smells can be a major trigger for my migraines. Because it is a light and fresh smell it really doesn’t cause any headaches at all 🙂 Perfection! (Plus I love that it’s Pink!)

The Moroccan Argan Hair Oil by Organic World is designed for moisture repair and damage control. I apply it on damp hair and then again when I have finished styling it. Just a small pea sized amount each time. I found that it smells lovely and isn’t too heavy of an oil. It helps deduct time from my blow drying time and leaves a nice healthy shine to my hair. I am not 100% sure where it was bought as I do believe it was a stocking filler bought for me last Christmas (I have so many oils, it takes me a while to get through them all!)

The Rimmel 60 Second Nail Varnish in Caramel Cupcake is literally my all time favourite go-to colour. It is natural for all those that aren’t allowed a strong nail colour to school or work and it does genuinely dry super quick. I actually bought two of these when I last stocked up and is a regular purchase for me! I love love love it!! My only down fall with any quick drying nail varnish is that they do dry out in the bottle a lot quicker, however that doesn’t bother me because I am just a fidget when I have painted my nails and Rimmel especially have the best colours!

The Avon Lipstick in “Pink Pop” was gifted to me actually a couple of christmases ago by my dear friend Chelsea. It was my go to daytime colour for when I worked or just looked for that ‘perfect subtle pink’. It had a hint of shine and glitter making it pop, but it was the perfect colour for me! I would buy it again but it appears to be discontinued! 😦

And finally! The two concealers I have I have relatively recently written about.(Click here) My E.L.F Cosmetics cover stick in Ivory is genuinely one of my favourite concealers because the coverage is just incredible for the price. The colour is ideal for my complexion. It is of a thick heavy coverage but doesn’t feel greasy or heavy once blended! The Essence is perfect consistency and coverage especially for the under eye coverage. However the colour was a little too dark for my skin. I will have to double check that I did buy the palest colour. If it is the palest then I probably won’t buy it again or will buy for when I next go on holiday as it was ideal last time!

And there you have it! Have you tried any of the above products? Let me know!

Goodbye for now my loves xo

Today’s Look | Nice and Simple

Hey Beauties!

How are we all today? I have an a day off work today so what an opportunity for me to document a few stages of my make process, I even had the courage to take a completely naked face selfie – sorry if it cracks all your screens 😉

On all the days off that I have, I will try my best to create a new look and document the process, and even eventually if you guys like it and encourage me enough, I will set up a youtube channel! eeeek! (currently saving for a new camera for this so I will keep you posted!!)

I am thinking of posting a few nice valentines day looks for all you lucky ladies with dates and plans, and my looks will range from the ‘no makeup, makeup’ look for those who want to look effortlessly amazing to those who lip the eyes and lips to stand out. What do you all think of that? I think I will do it anyway! haha!

Anyways, so back to business. today I chose to play around with my new makeup palette that I received as a gift, but I wasn’t in the mood for heavy makeup as I had no plans to even leave the house! Not because I am lazy, but going out means spending money I don’t have and I am too close to pay day to risk that!

So here goes..

No makeup what so ever…Warning…it is not a pretty sight! (excuse the hair and major rootage).

I look thrilled to be taking that picture! Anyway, I covered my mug with my good old trusty Max Factor Colour adapt (after priming with my refreshing Nivea Express Hydrating Primer) and my new Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. To finish my base off, I added some ELF blush and even a slight contour with one of the colours in my super duper ELF palettes. (all these products I have spoken about in previous posts).

Looking slightly happier now as you can tell!! – Yes still in my pj’s here too. No judgements please! (I did get dressed though, i just have a particular routine and makeup before getting dressed is just WRONG in the mornings. Simply because I have a habit of spilling things. Though I brush my teeth after I get dressed and well, thats never a good idea.)

I didn’t worry too much about my eyebrows as I wasn’t leaving the house and I am in dire need of a tint and shape!!!!!!!!! ahhh It is so embarrassing! The over grown slug look is NOT attractive.

Here is the palette I recieved as a gift from my beautiful Mumma!

Mum, having done her research has told me that this is a replica of the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette. I have always wanted to invest in these palettes but having been the higher end makeup brand, it has never been ideal for me to spend over £30 on just one palette. I think I will eventually invest in them but for now, just my lovely drugstore, lower end makeup does me just fine. I love shopping on a budget because I always find a lot of people out there are willing to spend a hell of a lot of money on particular items where I can find similar products cheaper, so I can get more for my money. My blog is about finding good value products that do their job, not reviewing products that everyday people like myself can’t really afford! Maybe one day!

Anyway, It is beautiful isn’t it? I was so chuffed when My Mum gave me this, lots of looks and experimenting is to be done!!

I only used 3 colours today. Sand, Wave and Silk.

I applied sand as my base colour, all over the eyelid and under the brow line. Adding a pale colour here will open your eyes more and help define your brow that little bit extra. I used the Wave over the crease, with the ELF crease brush, and then the Silk over the eyelid under the crease. Here is the look…ImageImage

Excusing the gigantic forehead, I must apologise for the quality of the picture. I didn’t quite realise how bad it was, but I think you get the idea. 🙂

I added the ELF cream eyeliner in black along the lash line (applying this with the brush it came with), and then a black crayon along the waterline of my top lid – again the ELF mineral crayon.

I felt that I could add me some lashes on today as I wasn’t in rush for work, and I wanted to keep them natural to keep the look nice, simple and everyday. So, I chose some lashes I received for Christmas from my little sister, Lowen. She purchased them from Wilkinson for the bargain price of 50p!!!!!! I wasn’t expecting them to be any good at all, but I was pleasantly surprised. I have a thing about using my own glue (Elyure bottle of glue can be bought from Boots for around £3.99 and has lasted me forever!!) as sometimes with the cheaper lashes the quality of glue isn’t great.

Just add a small amount of mascara to blend in your natural lash to the falsies and you’re good to go. I think I used an NYC mascara, as the brush was small and doesn’t clump.

At this point, I curled my hair, got dressed and then brushed my teeth ready to apply some lippy!! For christmas, I received a couple of lip stains, to help keep my lipstick looking freshly applied all day. They were purchased at Primark at £1.50 per one, and OMG I order you all to stock up!! I was so impressed with it that I will be buying all the colours. I applied this in a pinky tone and then added some lip gloss by ELF.

Look at the colour pay off just from a stain! This stain lasted even longer than the gloss, so I am more and more impressed every time I use it.

The only down all the gloss is that the glitter in it can be felt when wearing it. It sometimes feels like I am have sugar on my lips which can feel uncomfortable, but this isn’t annoying enough for me to not wear or like it.

One thing I didn’t do was take a full photo of the finished result 😦 (i know – slap my wrists) but I did receive a compliment from my boyfriend so I must have looked alright!!

My jumper for the day..

And my nails 🙂

Let me know what you think

Two Thousand and What?

Happy New Year to all my beauties reading!

Hope you have all been well! I have literally been off the blogging radar for little until 2 months now and I have never felt so lost. Christmas time is busy with work and stressing about money and things, so blogging was unfortunately pushed to the back 😦 Sob sob.

But I am here now and I am ready to rock and roll on with the wonderful world of blogging and join the bblogger out there! I promise to write to you all more and eventually I think I will be creating a youtube channel! What do you all think about that ??

So, I have so much to write about with all the products I received for Christmas and all the things I bought on the lead up to the festive season! But for now I will write about what you have all missed whilst I have been MIA.

Well to start with there was my Christmas Tree, I am so proud of our tree this year. Last year we moved out for he first time close to christmas so it wasn’t a big deal for us at the time. But this year I wanted to make up for it. I went for the colours gold and turquoise/green/blue. Simple but fits my living room perfectly. Definitely were not enough lights, but LED warm lights were what I went for. The tree was bought for a bargain of £15…Brand new…from Tesco! Can you believe it?! It was a 6ft tree and I expected it to be bare and horrible, but it was the complete opposite. If they sell next year, and you are looking for a tree, Tesco is your place!

The MOT was due on our car 3 days before christmas! (Who on earth does their MOT in December?! Crazy people). One of the advisories last year was the exhaust, and it said it needed a little welding doing. We neglected it (as you do) and this is what happened… The old exhaust it sat next to the new one. Please do take a moment to take it in and slap me on the wrist. (Told you I was busy, skint and stressed and I hope this explains a small piece of why!)

My beautiful baby sister turned 15 in December as well. I had her meet me from work so I could treat her to a Costa Coffee and buy her a present of her choice. With Christmas so close to her birthday, I always struggle to buy her gifts that she wants and everyone is buying her at the same time. So I treated her to a mini shopping trip. She walked away with a giant bourbon and some super cute shoes. They were from New Look, in a tan colour with a a wedge heels. They were the most perfect little ankle boots for the winter, to keep looking fashionable and comfortable. I nearly bought them for myself too!!

I had my hair done! I have been battling with myself for months since going from blonde to brunette whether I should go back to being a blondie, but I would always get talked out of it. So I thought I would meet everyone  (and myself) half way. I wanted to get a dip dye so I could manage my super fast growing roots myself, without it costing me a fortune but my hair stylist went straight to the root with the foils. As much as I LOVED it, I have recently dyed over the blonde with my usual chestnut brown (blogged previously about what dye I use) as I had major rootage and I can’t afford it this month due to getting paid early and January being the world longest month on the calendar! (ha!) Love love love how long my hair is getting!

As it was the festive season, it would be rude not to celebrate whilst using the excuse to catch up with some friends. Having a friend down from Uni and Multiple staff parties, and of course New Years, it was impossible to stay indoors and be a grinch. I have posted a few of the pictures I found the morning after!

Absolutely love this picture of my boyfriend and I.

December 2013 was definitely the month of the ‘Selfies’ for me. (yes, I know, I am a poser) But when you are feeling good for once, you can’t help but document it!

Love my hair here, just after getting it dyed, I curled it and my hair just fell so nicely. So yes, I had to pose! Love my eyebrows in the picture too!

This dress I have blogged about before and after losing half a stone since then, I honestly felt really good.

This outfit was bought from New Look and was dress that I was pushed to try on by my friend and Mum. And honestly so glad I was. It fell so nicely over the lumpy and bumpy bits and minimised all my insecurities. (except the chunky arms, I am working on it though). It was a deep red underdress with a black lace netting over the top. The contrast between the two colours was amazing! It came with a little black belt which completed the outfit. Please do excuse the nobbly knees! ha!

The last selfie with my blondie hair! Simple makeup and great lighting…can’t go wrong really!

A few of Christmas gifts. My over flowing nail varnish box was amazing! I now have expanded to two boxes….slowly getting my collection up! I will blog solely about new my varnishes, what I recommend and what I don’t!

Please do not knock the snuggie until you get one! I was bit chilly on christmas day! Can you tell!?

And finally, how beautiful is one of my kitties! Sheldon lives at home with my mum and I love him so so so much! Was a little rascal hiding in mum’s tree! Spot the kitty cat!!!

So you are all caught up on all the goings on (all the fun stuff anyway). How was your festive season? Was it a family time or just a big party?

I have promised myself that I will make 2014 the year of fun and memories. I did not take many photos in 2013 and I really regret it. I will document 2014 with every inch of my life! Every night out, More pictures with my boyfriend and family, and not take everything for granted!

Let’s just take a moment to share what my New Years Resolutions are:

– Take more photos.

– Be more positive.

– Be healthy and happy.

– Blog more often to make something I love successful.

– Be a better person for my family and friends.

– Enjoy life and don’t take it for granted.

What are yours?!

I Love Glitter!

I throw my hands up and admit that I am seriously attracted to shiny things. I am just like a magpie.

I see anything in a shop that is shiny or covered in glitter then it’s a must have (obviously to a certain point I draw the line, I don’t like tacky! haha)

But one thing I absolutely love is glittery nails!!!

My growing collection of nail varnishes is a a major deal. Addicted to different colours, even if there is only a slight hint of difference I must buy. Of course my collection is the mother of all collections (no, seriously, you should see my Mum’s collection!)

I have a selection of nail varnish brands in my big box but my all time favourite has to be BarryM! for the price of them the quality is amazing, doesn’t take forever to dry and last quite long! (my nails never last too long because I used my fingers and nails quite a lot).

They sell a wide variety of colours and different nail paints, such as the Gelly Hi-Shine selection. I have a bit of everything but there are a few I have as my favourites.

This copper colour is absolutely stunning and is perfect for the Fall.

It layers nicely and isn’t too thick and gloopy like some polishes can be! I definitely recommend this colour. Perfect colour for the season and a slight hint of glitter for people like me! 😉

This is called “Pink Silvar Glitter”. I LOVE this colour when I fancy something light and attractive. I flicker between my dark and deep colours to my barely there colours and this fits perfectly with my “if it chips it’s not so obvious” colour!

Again it is a thin polish but plenty of strong pigments there, so the colour only need 2 coats. Can’t stop looking at it!

This is how I have painted my nails about an hour ago…

The other day when I went to my Mum’s house, I asked her to paint my nails as she absolutely loves painting them. She has a very artistic streak in her. So, when my Mum paints my nails, I give her my ‘requirements’. It gives her an idea of what I want and she picks the colours and design. (I am hopeless at making decisions, and when you see my Mum’s nail vanish collection, you will agree with me that, that alone is completely impossible to not want to have every colour painted. )

My requirements on this day were “deep and autumny”. Not a lot to work with but she manages! She picked me a very nice deep purple, and then complimented this colour with some bling! (She knows me better than I know myself, and it is scary how true this is!). I feel in love with the glitter (as did my mum) that I just had to buy it for myself….I would have stolen it from her collection, but she would have chopped my hands off 😉

The colour of the glitter was called “Amethyst” and is found at Superdrug or Boots for just £2.99!!!! BarryM products tend to be as cheap as £2.99 which is a reasonable amount for the quality of the product!!!

Make sure that if you are going to paint your nails a dark or bright colour, it can stain your nails. Investing in a decent base coat will solve your problems, and if you buy the £2.99 2in1 basecoat AND topcoat (topcoat is to seal the colour and add shine) in the BarryM section, you will not be disappointed!

My other favourite brands of nail colours are Rimmel, and NYC. They all have very different brushes, but all are such good quality in their own ways.

NYC was a beauty that I found out about in the US…(Why does America always have the best products/finds). Ever since spotting them over the pond, NYC can be found at Superdrug in the UK and their prices are amazing! In the USA a nail polish was about $0.98….ermmm bargain!!! in the UK I have found them to be anywhere between £1 -£4 depending the colour and type you choose, but I found them to definitely be worth the price. If you haven’t already, make sure you check them out next time you are looking for the perfect colour!!

This isn’t even half of what I have in my box, but just a quick sneak peek at what sort of colours you could find in there!!

What is your favourite colour to wear?

The Key to Colour!

Hey there!

So we all know I’m not one to spend horrid amounts of money, but I will also do what I can to feel good and try my best to look good too!

This means accessorising!

I’m going to tell you how I got to my recent DIY before I show you what I did…

Basically, I moved house about 3 weeks ago and for all that time we lived with only having one key between the two of us! There was a time where my partner heard me say ‘I’ve taken the key, see you later’ whilst walking out the door. This was completely wrong and I said ‘I don’t have the Key so make sure you’re in when I finish work.’

He is a pain in the backside sometimes! Ha! So what happened was, he decided that he was going to go out, obviously forgetting the key! Lets just say he had to climb a ladder and break in to our own flat! What a wally, right?

But this week we finally got round to getting all the keys cut, and so I have my own set of keys, hurrah!!!!

When he got them cut, he asked if I wanted to get a colour or a design or pattern put on the key.

My first thought was ‘yes, I want to be girlie and glam up my keys’. And then he decided to tell me the prices. My next thought being ‘errrrrrrrm…no’.

I was a bit gutted because I love jazzing up anything I can!

Thinking today, a lightbulb lit up my teenie tiny brain. I remember a few months ago I was browsing the web, like you do, and saw someone had actually painted the tips of their keys.

Right, I came home and I was all over this!!!

I chose to use my nail varnishes and I have tonnes if them!!! And here is how I did it….

Take your key..

And paint it with a white nail varnish…

You need the white to make sure you have a base for the colour you choose and it brightens it up too!! So choose your colour and paint!

Here are my final products 🙂

One advice I would give to you when painting them, would be to try and use a quick dry paint. And paint one side and let that dry before you paint the other! Me getting excited about how they are going to look, I spent a good half hour waving them to get them to dry!

Maybe I’m the wally!

If any of you paint yours, make sure you show me!

Good night xo
