Hey there!

I am back once again, and a lot sooner than I think anyone anticipated! Including myself.

The response my blog post last night received was amazing and has genuinely just kicked me up the back side to really continue something I started and that I know I love doing. With the ups and downs I have had so far this year my motivation has really been shot down in almost every aspect of my life so really looking forward to building my confidence back up and really work towards what I wish to achieve!

So lets get started then shall we!?

I thought after blabbering on for ages last night a small post today will be more than enough rather than boring you all!

Today’s post is all about the….LIPS!

If you have been a long time follower you will know that lips just aren’t my thing, but you will be impressed… I have gone from having just 5 lippies, to now owning around 20. This is a vast improvement so I thought I may as well show you just a couple of my current favourites!

Here goes!

Rimmel London Apocolips Lip Lacquer in shade “Eclipse” – £6.49 in Boots

Revlon Colour Burst Lacquer Balm in shade “Provocateur” – £7.99 in Boots (Revlon currently 2 for £10)

ELF Luscious Liquid Lipstick in shade “Pink Lemonade” –  £1.95

With my lip colours, I go through phases of wearing a nude everyday, a everyday or just a balm, but it has got to the point where if I have nothing on my lips I will go mad until I can get my hands on something. It just feels uncomfortable so I have to carry my balms with me everywhere at the moment for an incase of emergency!

For a very natural day where I am looking for a very subtle hint of colour with a glossy finish, I wear my ELF Luscious Lips. It is a twisty tool to get the product out so the product is kept fresh and doesn’t turn gloopy. I love glosses like this as it makes it easier to apply. The best rule to follow with these types of applicators is to work along the lines of less is more. It is easier to build the product up on the lip than to twist too much and end up with slick lips that are continuously sticking together and looks like your mouth is melting or your just the strange dribbler walking down the road – not cool. So always start with a thin layer and a apply small amounts at time. The colour is beautiful and is one of my faves. I recently bought the “Cherry Tart” shade too and is slightly more reddy and just as pretty!IMG_4757

My Revlon Colour Burst was only bought after watching every YouTuber speak about it and every blogger writing about it. I just HAD to see what the fuss was about. When I do this I find myself being disappointed and I have such high hopes after the amazing reviews, so I used once and put it away in my drawer. I recently rediscovered it and applied it feeling I should give it one more try and it is currently my favourite red colour! It glides smoothly on the lips and isn’t too thick like some sticks. It has a minty smell/taste so thats just never bad thing and lasts a lot longer than most reds. I can’t believe I completely disregarded this from the start! It is definitely a must have in your lipstick draw!

Finally there is the Rimmel London Apocolips. I spent such a long time looking for which colour to buy and I am always so drawn to burgundy shades, so Eclipse was a winner for me. I do have the nude one as well but that can be a little too pales for me depending on my makeup. Coming in to Autumn is my absolute favourite time of year and with the lovely English rain at the moment, I have definitely been rocking this when I can. It is very difficult to apply simply because of the deep colour (Stains so easily) so I wouldn’t apply it if you hurrying out the door. It has a beautiful finish though and lasts a relatively long time for a lippie. It is very dark to begin with so I simply apply to my bottom lip and rub and just use the remainder of the wand to go around the edges to ensure my lips are perfect. The finish is glossy but the right amount of glossy! It takes a lot of patience with any dark colour, but its just too beautiful! I will be wearing this every opportunity I get with the arrival of the colder months!

And there we have my current favourite lip products! All have great pigmentation so the colours come out just how you expect them to! Have you tried any of them? Let me know below or on the links below!

Goodbye for now my loves! xo

I Love Glitter!

I throw my hands up and admit that I am seriously attracted to shiny things. I am just like a magpie.

I see anything in a shop that is shiny or covered in glitter then it’s a must have (obviously to a certain point I draw the line, I don’t like tacky! haha)

But one thing I absolutely love is glittery nails!!!

My growing collection of nail varnishes is a a major deal. Addicted to different colours, even if there is only a slight hint of difference I must buy. Of course my collection is the mother of all collections (no, seriously, you should see my Mum’s collection!)

I have a selection of nail varnish brands in my big box but my all time favourite has to be BarryM! for the price of them the quality is amazing, doesn’t take forever to dry and last quite long! (my nails never last too long because I used my fingers and nails quite a lot).

They sell a wide variety of colours and different nail paints, such as the Gelly Hi-Shine selection. I have a bit of everything but there are a few I have as my favourites.

This copper colour is absolutely stunning and is perfect for the Fall.

It layers nicely and isn’t too thick and gloopy like some polishes can be! I definitely recommend this colour. Perfect colour for the season and a slight hint of glitter for people like me! 😉

This is called “Pink Silvar Glitter”. I LOVE this colour when I fancy something light and attractive. I flicker between my dark and deep colours to my barely there colours and this fits perfectly with my “if it chips it’s not so obvious” colour!

Again it is a thin polish but plenty of strong pigments there, so the colour only need 2 coats. Can’t stop looking at it!

This is how I have painted my nails about an hour ago…

The other day when I went to my Mum’s house, I asked her to paint my nails as she absolutely loves painting them. She has a very artistic streak in her. So, when my Mum paints my nails, I give her my ‘requirements’. It gives her an idea of what I want and she picks the colours and design. (I am hopeless at making decisions, and when you see my Mum’s nail vanish collection, you will agree with me that, that alone is completely impossible to not want to have every colour painted. )

My requirements on this day were “deep and autumny”. Not a lot to work with but she manages! She picked me a very nice deep purple, and then complimented this colour with some bling! (She knows me better than I know myself, and it is scary how true this is!). I feel in love with the glitter (as did my mum) that I just had to buy it for myself….I would have stolen it from her collection, but she would have chopped my hands off 😉

The colour of the glitter was called “Amethyst” and is found at Superdrug or Boots for just £2.99!!!! BarryM products tend to be as cheap as £2.99 which is a reasonable amount for the quality of the product!!!

Make sure that if you are going to paint your nails a dark or bright colour, it can stain your nails. Investing in a decent base coat will solve your problems, and if you buy the £2.99 2in1 basecoat AND topcoat (topcoat is to seal the colour and add shine) in the BarryM section, you will not be disappointed!

My other favourite brands of nail colours are Rimmel, and NYC. They all have very different brushes, but all are such good quality in their own ways.

NYC was a beauty that I found out about in the US…(Why does America always have the best products/finds). Ever since spotting them over the pond, NYC can be found at Superdrug in the UK and their prices are amazing! In the USA a nail polish was about $0.98….ermmm bargain!!! in the UK I have found them to be anywhere between £1 -£4 depending the colour and type you choose, but I found them to definitely be worth the price. If you haven’t already, make sure you check them out next time you are looking for the perfect colour!!

This isn’t even half of what I have in my box, but just a quick sneak peek at what sort of colours you could find in there!!

What is your favourite colour to wear?

Hair, Hair, Hair!

I am soooo bored of my hair right now, that I need a drastic change, and I do need some help from my readers! I want to be blonde again but the cost is a lot and the damage it does to hair is horrible. So I am going to show you guys what colours I have been and get your opinions!

I do work in retail, so I don’t think it would be appreciated if I went a completely wild colour…or is that my excuse as I am not quite brave enough? Who knows! 😉

I have been blonde….

I have been a red head…

I have had Black Hair…

and Natural!

I am not being vain, I am just completely stuck.

I get bored sooooo quick and my family and friends all say different things, so they aren’t much help 😉

All these photos range from the last 4 years!!!! Can you tell which ones are from 4 years ago and which ones are from now?! I can’t. Hint: I’ve put alot of weight on in more recent pics! hahah!

Would love to hear back as to what you guys think!

Counting on you! x

The Key to Colour!

Hey there!

So we all know I’m not one to spend horrid amounts of money, but I will also do what I can to feel good and try my best to look good too!

This means accessorising!

I’m going to tell you how I got to my recent DIY before I show you what I did…

Basically, I moved house about 3 weeks ago and for all that time we lived with only having one key between the two of us! There was a time where my partner heard me say ‘I’ve taken the key, see you later’ whilst walking out the door. This was completely wrong and I said ‘I don’t have the Key so make sure you’re in when I finish work.’

He is a pain in the backside sometimes! Ha! So what happened was, he decided that he was going to go out, obviously forgetting the key! Lets just say he had to climb a ladder and break in to our own flat! What a wally, right?

But this week we finally got round to getting all the keys cut, and so I have my own set of keys, hurrah!!!!

When he got them cut, he asked if I wanted to get a colour or a design or pattern put on the key.

My first thought was ‘yes, I want to be girlie and glam up my keys’. And then he decided to tell me the prices. My next thought being ‘errrrrrrrm…no’.

I was a bit gutted because I love jazzing up anything I can!

Thinking today, a lightbulb lit up my teenie tiny brain. I remember a few months ago I was browsing the web, like you do, and saw someone had actually painted the tips of their keys.

Right, I came home and I was all over this!!!

I chose to use my nail varnishes and I have tonnes if them!!! And here is how I did it….

Take your key..

And paint it with a white nail varnish…

You need the white to make sure you have a base for the colour you choose and it brightens it up too!! So choose your colour and paint!

Here are my final products 🙂

One advice I would give to you when painting them, would be to try and use a quick dry paint. And paint one side and let that dry before you paint the other! Me getting excited about how they are going to look, I spent a good half hour waving them to get them to dry!

Maybe I’m the wally!

If any of you paint yours, make sure you show me!

Good night xo
